About the Artist

The subject of Laurie’s work is color. Laurie’s painting process is intuitive, as she investigates relationships between colors, and the space and light created within and around color. Her work explores color within the confines of clean minimalism, as well as through more organic layering and freeform shapes. Her process is playful, but ultimately her tendency is to quiet the chaos, paring down the noise using simple forms, large areas of color blocking, and often, lots of white.
