About the Artist

Julie Bowers Murphy is best known for her lonely, cinematic figurative paintings and soft-edged landscapes. Her work as a painterly realist references bygone eras in an effort to preserve quiet, introspective moments. Julie's paintings are strongly influenced by her connection to the sea. She notes, “I feel obliged to present an alternate, more beautiful world through my art that allows an escape from the non-stop, harsh, disposable imagery of the current digital era.”
