Lucie Phillips (1950-2022)

Working primarily in oil, Illinois-based artist Lucie Phillips investigated and explored different ways to convey feelings from the surrounding landscape in her paintings.  Water, farms, the city, and figures within were objects of her inspiration. During her final years as a painter, Lucie’s portfolio expanded to include works of abstraction as well.

Lucie maintained a working studio in Evanston and Winnetka for over 25 years. He work was represented in Illinois, Michigan, Vermont, New York, and Maine, as well as the US Embassy rotating art program.

We are incredibly grateful to have had the privilege of knowing Lucie and showing her work here at the gallery.
