Our First Birthday

One year ago this week we launched the website and officially opened the doors to the petite garden cottage that houses The Willard Gallery!

Our first full year in business flew by in the absolute best of ways. It was a year full of milestones, big and small, and lessons learned, also big and small. Mostly, it was a year of gratitude - for the artists who took a chance on a young, non-traditional gallery, for the collectors who enthusiastically continue to support the work of our talented artists, and for all of the help I’ve had from loved ones along the way.

I’ll always remember the thrill of the very first sale (so fittingly a painting by Claire Cushman of our namesake neighborhood beach shacks) just moments after our launch newsletter went out, and I will never forget the moments of anticipation leading up to the first in-person gallery appointment.

I’ve experienced countless pinch-me moments in the last year of operating the gallery and pursuing this longstanding dream of mine. It is such a privilege to do what I do, working with an incredible team of artists and building relationships with a supportive group of art collectors and enthusiasts.

Cheers to the first of many happy birthdays for The Willard Gallery and a big thank you to everyone who has championed the gallery and our artists in any way!
