Megan Magill is an artist whose studio practice embraces drawing, printmaking and photography as stepping stones and conspirators to her whimsical paintings. Through a process that involves found imagery, improvised methods, and a reliance on chance, her work pays homage to all that is strange and wonderful in our lives.
Megan has shown throughout the US and makes her work in her studio in Brooksville, Maine. In addition to her work as a painter, Megan also designs interiors.

Artist’s Statement
“In order to make a painting I lean into messages from places that I can’t see but yet somehow need to learn to trust. I start with an idea, and often an image, but rely on gut feelings and intuition to realize the painting in its final form. My process reinforces, as it necessitates, not being afraid of things that are only in my imagination. By allowing myself the liberty to not always know where I am heading I am able to find moments of connection between myself and the painting that ultimately help shape its meaning. “
